Ukpakiri Community School Outreach

Ukpakiri Community School Outreach
Ukpakiri Community School in Abia State, Nigeria was established in the year 1948. It has 184 students and 22 teachers. When our outreach team visited this school, they were highly encouraged by the improvisation and self-help implemented by the school management to make them comfortable.
Why We Visited:
As part of Jed Child Trust Foundation's ongoing school outreach programme, our team visits community schools across Nigeria to understand first-hand the conditions children learn in, and to identify where support is most needed.
What We Found:
Despite limited resources, the management of Ukpakiri Community School has shown real resourcefulness in keeping the school running for its 184 students and 22 teachers, improvising and finding self-help solutions where formal support has been lacking.
How Jed Child Trust Is Helping:
Jed Child Trust Foundation works toward every African child having access to good quality education, irrespective of their gender, background, and financial situation. The organization empowers children with an education so they grow up to be pioneers of African development, and protects them against abuse, slavery, labor, and other obstacles these youths face.
Your donation helps Jed Child Trust Foundation continue supporting community schools like Ukpakiri with the resources their students and teachers need.
